The objectives of LGBT Wolverhampton are:
To develop a longterm strategy for the LGBT community in Wolverhampton
To educate and inform the Wolverhampton LGBT community of the facilities and services already available to them
To raise and develop the profile of the Wolverhampton LGBT community

In 2002 Wolverhampton Network Consortium commissioned research to assist in the ongoing development of various community networks across the city. One such group was the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community. The resulting report gave a snapshot of life, aspirations and concerns of the LGBT community in Wolverhampton and resulted in the formation of LGBT Wolverhampton, a group of like minded individuals interested in making a positive difference to the LGBT community.
Since then the group has developed and more recently commissioned a further survey into the needs and views of the community. The results of this survey have formed the basis of a three year plan which is outlined below.
