WHAT IS THE WOLVERHAMPTON LGBT/POLICE FORUM?
The LGBT Wolverhampton Network decided to liaise with the local police and the Police Forum was set up. It includes a chair and secretary from the Network, representatives from Wolverhampton Police’s two OCUs, the Rainbow Network, the Terrence Higgins Trust, the Wolverhampton Community Safety Partnership, Wolverhampton Victim Support, Gender Matters and the Wolverhampton Community Empowerment Network. The managers of the city’s gay venues are invited to attend and have minutes of the meetings sent to them. Précised versions of the Forum’s minutes appear on the Network’s web-site and are sent out to the Network’s members. Because the Forum is not free standing its members are not elected and most people attending the meetings are there by direct invitation. New people can be invited to join the meetings and invitations can be issued by members of the Network.
